IRONMAN Austria is one of the most renowned long-distance triathlons in Europe and is a sporting highlight in Carinthia year after year. The venue is Klagenfurt am Wörthersee – with one of the most atmospheric starts in the world directly in the turquoise-blue lake.
With 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.2 km of running, the IRONMAN is one of the toughest endurance events in the world. The start is at the Maiernigg lido in Klagenfurt – from there it’s a varied route through Carinthia. Thousands of spectators along the course create a unique atmosphere.
The swim takes place in Lake Wörthersee, whose clear water quality ensures fast times. The bike course leads through the beautiful Carinthian countryside and demands strength and endurance with long straights and challenging climbs. At the end, the marathon through Klagenfurt awaits, accompanied by thousands of spectators who provide real goosebump moments.
